文中的intellectual property就是“知识产权”的意思。1970年4月26日，《建立世界知识产权组织公约》正式生效;从2001年起，将每年的4月26日定为“世界知识产权日”(World Intellectual Property Day)，其中intellectual用作形容词，意为“知识产权的;智力的”，如：intellectual exercise(智力训练);intellectual也可以做名词，意为“知识分子”，如：a high intellectual(一名高级知识分子)。
