Pearl Sydenstricker Buck (June 26, 1892 – March 6, 1973) also known by her Chinese name Sai Zhenzhu, was an American writer who spent most of her time until 1934 in China. Her novel The Good Earth was the best-selling fiction book in the U.S. in 1931 and 1932, and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1932. In 1938, she became the first American woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, "for her rich and truly epic descriptions of peasant life in China and for her biographical masterpieces."
美国传奇女作家赛珍珠（Peal Buck），1934年的大部分时间待在中国，她的经历和作品都跟中国有着很特殊的情谊。她取材自中国的小说《大地》（The Good Earth）在1931年和1932年成为美国最畅销小说，1932年获得普利策小说奖；1938年赛珍珠因“对中国农民生活丰富真实的史诗般的描述，以及在传记方面的杰作”而被授予该年度的诺贝尔文学奖，她也是第一位获得诺贝尔奖的美国女作家。

中国四大名著之一的《水浒传》最精确的英译本 All men are brothers 出自她的笔下，译为四海之内皆兄弟；

她是唯一同时获得普利策奖（the Pulitzer Prize） 和诺贝尔奖（the Nobel Prize）的女作家；

她曾在金陵大学教授英国文学（English literature），并曾执教南京大学英语系；

她是第一位让人在西方文学中听到亚洲声音的作家（she had portrayed the Chinese peasants "with such love, affection and humanity"）。
