第693期:超尬 当你假装自己听不懂外语时

不知道你们有没有过这种经历-当你不小心听到别人议论你时，却被对方发现。但其实更让人尬的是，你用自以为别人听不懂的方言/语言大声评价对方，却极其反转的发现，被你议论的那个人也掌握了这种方言/语言。呵呵，这种感觉真是酸爽。

I'm Swiss and Peruvian and I live in Peru, so I don't look at all like a Swiss guy. There were two Swiss girls sitting behind me on a bus talking about Latino guys. Then one of them asked the other if she found me attractive. I turned around and said that I would love to know that too. The look of confusion and shame was priceless. Then we just all laughed. Now I've got two new friends!

An ego boost

I was at a hotel bar in NY and a Russian couple were sitting a few chairs down from me talking about what they should do for the evening. So I suggested that they go to Rockefeller center to see the tree (it was a couple days before Christmas) and try and find some carolers/Christmas music performances to listen to.

我当时在纽约的一家旅馆酒吧，一对俄罗斯夫妇坐在我旁边，聊着晚上该怎么办。所以我建议他们去洛克菲勒中心看圣诞树（那是圣诞节前几天），试着找些圣诞颂歌/圣诞音乐表演来听。

They were shocked an American could speak Russian and they were super pleasant people. They bought me a drink and talked about their impressions of NY for 20 minutes or so before they went out for the night. I was able to give them some advice and they gave me an ego boost by complimenting my Russian.

他们对美国人会说俄语感到震惊，而且他们人超好，请我喝了一杯，和我聊了20分钟左右他们对纽约的印象后就出去了。我能给他们一些建议，而他们称赞我的俄语更是让我信心满满。
