实用口语:如何说"多努力一点"

有些时候成功就是在你准备放弃的那一刻，如果再坚持一下下，你就是成功者了；可是往往我们就是在最后的那一刻，选择了放弃，于是与成功失之交臂，甚是可惜！God help those who help themselves!

记得要参加工作的时候，我爸就对我说：“工作中别太计较得失，只要你努力实实在在，会有人赏识你的，是金子都会发光，一定要比别人努力。”说实话，当时听了我爸的话，不是非常的理解，现在出来工作2年了，发现只要实实在在把工作做好，比别人多努力点，成功离我们就不再遥远！

To do your duty is not enough. You must go the extra mile.
只满足于分内是不够的，你必须多做一点点。

to go the extra mile means to try a little harder in order to achieve something, after you have already used a lot of effort.
　
片语"to go the extra mile"源出《圣经·马太福音》第五章“山顶布道”。耶稣劝告门徒："Whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain."（有人强逼你走一里路，你就同他走二里。）当时，以色列人被罗马统治，只要罗马士兵下令，以色列人就必须给罗马人抬着东西走一英里。针对这种情况，耶稣发表了上述言语，劝诫众人要忍辱、行善，甚至是用爱来回应敌人的恨。

如今，"to go the extra mile"的宗教意义已渐行渐远。现常用来形容“除了份内活儿，还干额外的事。” 看下面两个例句：

It wasn't the fact that the man was an extraordinary stenographer that got her attention. It was his personal initiative in going the extra mile.
他之所以吸引她，并非是他的速记能力，而是他喜欢付出的进取心。

A: Nobody will ever believe anything I say again.
A：不会有人再相信我所说的任何话了！
B: In that case, you have to go the extra mile to prove your credibility.
