教育部部长承诺把校园建成最阳光、最安全的地方

China's Ministry of Education promised last Thursday to make schools the "brightest and safest" places.

中国教育部上周四承诺，会将学校建设为“最阳光、最安全”的地方。

Chen Baosheng, minister of education, said in a national teleconference on school safety that the safety of students and teachers was always the top priority.

教育部部长陈宝生在一场关于校园安全的全国电话会议上表示，师生安全永远都是重中之重。

Chen called on more efforts to improve the prevention and control system, strengthen school security forces and make full use of digital management.

他呼吁进一步完善防控体系，加强学校安全力量建设，充分利用数字管理手段。

Chen required schools nationwide to pay more attention to moral education and psychological health education, and take care of students' mental conditions.

陈宝生要求全国各地的学校更加重视道德与心理健康教育，以及关注学生的精神状况。

He also stressed the importance of everyday management and punishment according to law to prevent school bullying and violence.

此外，他还强调了日常管理及依法惩治的重要性，以杜绝校园暴力事件的发生。

"Criminal acts including physical punishment, sexual harassment and sexual abuse must be treated with utmost seriousness," Chen said.

陈宝生表示：“包括体罚、性骚扰和性虐待在内的犯罪行为必须得到最严肃的对待。”
