史蒂芬·霍金在采访中大谈英国脱欧和特朗普

Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that a hard Brexit would be hugely damaging to the UK.

史蒂芬·霍金教授日前警告称，艰难的脱欧会对英国造成巨大的损害。

He said it would leave us "isolated and inward-looking".

他表示，这会使得我们“孤立和只关心自己”。

Prof Hawking added: "Instead, we should retain as many links as possible with Europe and the rest of the world, particularly China."

霍金教授还补充道：“相反，我们应该与欧洲和世界其它地区，尤其是中国，保持尽可能多的联系。”

"By remaining in the EU, we would have given ourselves more influence in the world. And we would provide future opportunities for young people, but leaving Europe threatens Britain's status as a world leader in science and innovation."

“通过留在欧盟，我们的世界影响力会更大。我们将为年轻人提供未来的机会，但是离开则会威胁英国作为科学和创新世界领导者的地位。”

The scientist, 75, also criticised Donald Trump and his supporters in the interview.

此外，这位75岁的科学家还在采访中批评了唐纳德·特朗普以及他的支持者。

He said Mr Trump's election as US President represents a more authoritarian approach.

他表示，特朗普当选美国总统代表着一个更为专制的方式。

Prof Hawking said: "He was elected by people who felt disenfranchised by the governing elite in a revolt against globalisation. His priority will be to satisfy his electorate who are neither liberal, nor that well-informed."

霍金教授指出：“在反对全球化的浪潮中，特朗普是由被那些感到被执政精英剥夺权力的人选举产生的。他首先考虑的事情将是满足他的那些既非自由主义又非消息灵通的选民。”

He added: "I would like to visit again and to talk to other scientists but I fear that I may not be welcome."

他还补充道：“我想要再次造访美国其他科学家，并且和他们交流，但是恐怕我不会受到欢迎了。”
