Here's the Algorithm that I would follow(if you're ever lost on a planet with me, keep this in mind!):

If you have no information, walk at random,leaving a trail of stone markers, each one pointing to the next. For every daythat you walk, rest for three. Periodically mark the date alongside the doesn't matter how you do this, as long as it's consistent. You could chiselthe number of days into a rock, or lay out rocks to plot the number.

如果你没有任何参考信息,那么随便乱走,在你走过的路线上留下小石头作为标记物,每一个小石头都指向下一个小石头的位置。你每行走一天,就休息三天。定期在石头标记旁记录一下日期。标记方式无所谓,只要前后保持一致就行。你可以在石头上刻上天数,也可以把石头摆成某个数字。

If you come across a trail that's newerthan any you've seen before, start following it as fast as you can. If you losethe trail and can't recover it, resume leaving your own trail.

如果你看到某一处的石头标记物记录的时间比你见到过的所有标记物都要新,那么就沿着它的方向走,越快越好。如果你走丢了,找不到对方的路线,那么继续留下你自己的路线。

You don't have to come across the otherplayer's current location; you simply have to come across a location wherethey've been. You can still chase one another in circles, but as long as youmove more quickly when you're following a trail than when you're leaving one,you'll find each other in a matter of years or decades.

你不需要直接走到对方的当前位置上,你只需要走到他曾经所在的位置就行了。虽然你们俩还是可能在相互兜圈子,但只要你沿着别人路线走时的速度,比你留下自己行走路线时的速度更快,那么几年或几十年后,你们总会相遇的。

And if your partner isn'tcooperating-perhaps they're just sitting where they started and waiting foryou-then you'll get to see some neat stuff.
