【原句】It is better to forgive and forget rather than to hold a grudge.
【解说】grudge 怨恨，妒忌；hold a grudge (against...) 的意思就是（对……）耿耿于怀，怀恨在心。

2. 晚饭我请客，请随便点你喜欢的。

【原句】Dinner is on me. Please order whatever you like.
【解说】该句用于含蓄地表达自己的请客意愿，比说I'll pay for the dinner.要婉转。当然并不固定于dinner，我们也可以说The wine is on me. 酒钱我来出。

3. 愿快乐幸福永伴你左右。

【原句】May there be joy and happiness around you today and always.
【解说】today and always 从今天直到永远

4. 请随意四处看看，就当在自个儿家一样。

【原句】Please feel free to look around and make yourself at home.
【解说】make oneself at home （如同在家一般）随便些，别客气

5. 在春节期间，穷人们受到了政府的公共救济。

【原句】During the Spring Festival, the poor received public assistance from the government.
【解说】public assistance 公共救济

6. 我们把行李送到宾馆后就去旅游观光了。

【原句】We dropped our luggage off at the hotel and went sightseeing.
【解说】drop sb./sth. off 意思是take sb./sth. to a particular place as you travel to a different place，中途顺便将……送交某处，而且通常是用车来交送的。

7. 拥有一颗美好的心灵是不够的；我们必须好好运用它。

【原句】It is not enough to have a good mind; one must use it well.
【解说】have a good mind 还可以作为一个词组，have a good mind to do something的意思是“很想做某事”，例如：She had a good mind to tell him everything. 她很想告诉他所有事。
