我小的时候，很调皮，淘气，经常受到reproach，我想大家已经猜到了这个单词“reproach”的意思了，是的，它是“责备”，“耻辱”的意思，既是个名词，也是个动词：

His tone held reproach. 他话中带有责备的口气。

This dirt is a reproach to the city. 肮脏是这个城市的耻辱。

I do not think this reproach would be just. 我认为这种责难是不公正的。

he brought reproach upon his family. 他的行为导致全家受责备。

Such doings will reproach him. 这种行径会使他丢脸。

我小的时候，对我的英语老师有那么点意思，I had a thing for my English teacher when I was little, 从这句话中，我们学会了，对某人有好感就是：have a thing for somebody:

I don't have a thing for him. 我对他没一点感觉。

Tony used to have a thing for his deskmate in high school. 托尼上中学的时候对他的同桌有好感。

Oh my God, I have a strong thing for my boss, but he's married. 天呢，怎么办呢，我对我的老板有强烈的好感，但他已经结婚了。

What, you have a thing for entertainers? 怎么，你对艺人特别感兴趣吗？

have a thing for + something: 喜欢……

He favored red orange and had a thing for Hawaiian shirts. 他偏爱橘红，且酷爱夏威夷衫。

Do you have a thing for your friend's big brother? 你是不是对你朋友的哥哥有些意思呢？
