新概念英语4学习笔记：第4课 Seeing Hands

第一段语法符号讲解

1. Several cases have been reported…who can read and detect…and see through…

复合句，主句主谓结构. 后面是 who 引导的定语从句，该定语从句为并列句，有两个谓语，均为主谓宾结构.

2. One case concerns a schoolgirl who has vision but who can perceive things…

复合句，主句主谓结构. 后面是 2 个并列的 who 引导的定语从句，均为主谓宾结构，由 but 连接.

3. This ability was noticed…

简单句，主谓结构.

4. she came into his office and happened to put…

并列句，前后两句都是主谓宾结构.

5. she asked her father…and described the way…

复合句，前句为主谓宾+宾语从句，why 引导的宾语从句为主谓宾+宾补结构.

and 之后为后句，省略了主语的主谓宾+定语从句结构，定语从句为主谓结构.

第二段语法符号讲解

1. talent was brought to the notice…and she was given a test…

复合句，句子结构由 and 连接两个句子，前句为主谓宾结构，外加一个定语从句，为主谓结构. 后句为主谓宾结构.

2. she was able to read a newspaper and she was able to describe the figures and colours; and (she was able) to make out the outlines and colours…

复合句，句子由第一个 and 分成两个长句，虽然第二句里面带有分号，但这个分号是基于后面这句内部而言的，并非整个句子以分号分为两句.

2-1 句，主谓宾结构.

2-2 句是一个并列句，前句 stranger still…she was able to describe…colours，为主谓宾结构，分号后面省略了主语和一部分谓语，补充完整为 and, she was able to make out… 也是主谓宾结构.

3. experiments showed that…her knees and shoulders had sensitivity.

复合句，主谓+宾语从句结构，宾语从句为主谓结构.

4. Vera was blindfold; and she lacked the ability…

并列句，前句主系表结构，后句主谓宾结构.

状语 except when blindfold 省略了主语和系动词，应为 when she was blindfold.

5. It was also found that although…this ability ceased…

复合句，it was that 强调句型，it 作形式主语，that 引导的主语从句作真正的主语.

主语从句 that although…wet 中，先是 although 引导的让步状语从句although…fingers，该从句的主句为主谓结构 this ability ceased，最后是省略了引导词when 的定语从句修饰 the moment，该定语从句为主系表结构.

为什么打湿了手就没办法识别物体呢？可能是为了让这个能力看起来更为神奇，亦可能打湿了手不方便作弊，因为类似的能力，魔术师也有过表演. 其实要真有这种能力，完全可以去买即开型彩票，或者去赌场，用来表演或者开培训班还是屈才了.
