The period of which you and your countrymen are the most ashamed. For India I guess we are ashamed of our partition Destroying places of worships because they were not of our faith Using army and violence to curb the dissent. We are slightly ashamed of what our ancestors did to each other during that episode. Germans might be ashamed of the Nazi period. So stuff like that. What do you consider to be the lowest point in your country's history morally speaking?

To be clear mention an incident where your country/countrymen/govt committed the shameful act ie your country was the perpetrator. You can also mention the cases where both perpetrators as well as victims belonged to your country. But don't mention incidents where the perpetrators are from other countries and only victims are from your country. That is not the intent of this question.
