常熟理工学院一女生裸体坠亡 校方称不负责任

Changshu Institute of Technology has announced that it is not liable for the recent suicide of a female student, according to the family of the deceased girl.

日前，常熟理工学院一名女大学生坠楼身亡，而据死者家属表示，校方声称对这起自杀事件无责任。

The student's body was reportededly found naked on the ground beside a dormitory building in the early morning of Oct. 21.

据报道，在10月21日清晨，人们在一幢宿舍楼旁边发现了这名女生赤裸着的尸体。

According to an employee of the university, the school informed the student's family immediately after the body was discovered.

据该大学一名员工表示，在发现尸体之后，校方立即通知了死者家属。

The university has also set up a special group to work with police, the employee added.

该员工补充说道，校方还成立了一个特别小组来和警方合作。

However, refusing to answer questions about possible motivation for the suicide, the employee said an official conclusion has yet to be reached by the police.

但是这名员工拒绝回答这名女生自杀有可能存在的动机，称警方还没有得出正式的结论。

Already, the girl's family has disputed the university's statement. A family member surnamed Fan explained that the school didn't inform them until nine hours after the body was found.

现在该女生的家属已经对校方的声明提出了异议。死者一名姓范的家属解释称，校方并没有立即通知他们，而是等到尸体在发现9个小时之后才这样做的。

In addition, Fan said the university agreed to negotiate with them, but no one from the school showed up at the scheduled appointment.

此外，据这位范姓家属表示，校方同意和他们进行协商，但是到了约定时间学校方面却没有一个人露面。

Later, university security blocked them from entering campus, even shoving the girl's mother to the ground.

后来，学校的保安就把他们堵在门外、不许进入学校，还把死亡女生的母亲推倒在地。

In a previous conversation, a vice president of the university stressed that the school is free from accountability for the incident.

在之前的一次谈话中，该校一名副校长强调学校对此次事件不负有责任。

The vice president claimed that the girl's family could file a lawsuit against the school if they wish.

该副校长声称，如果死者家属愿意的话，他们完全可以对学校提起诉讼。

When the family questioned the safety measures of the university, the school replied that such measures are designed for the student body as a whole - not individual students.

当死者家属质疑学校安全措施的时候，校方回复称，这些措施是为整个学生群体设计的--而不仅仅只是为了某些个别的学生。
