印度决定提高银行提款限额 平息换钞公愤
The Indian government has raised the limit on cash withdrawals following widespread public anger about the surprise abolition of 500 ($7.60; ?5.90) and 1,000 rupee notes last week.
印度政府上星期出人意外地宣布取消旧版500卢比和1000卢比钞票，引起公众愤怒，现在政府决定提高提取现金的限额。Customers can now withdraw up to 2,500 rupees a day from cash machines, rather than 2,000, the finance ministry said.
印度财政部表示，顾客现在可以每天从自动提款机提款2500卢比，而不是先前规定的2000卢比。Many cash machines are not working because they have not been adapted for the new 500 and 2,000 rupee notes. Long queues at many banks were making it difficult to make withdrawals.

The abolition of the 500 and 1,000 rupee notes is intended to crack down on corruption and bring cash worth billions of dollars in unaccounted wealth back into the economy.
