概况

The Tang Dynasty.(唐朝）（June 18, 618 —June 4, 907) followed the Sui Dynasty and preceded the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period in China.

唐朝（618年6月18日——907年7月4日）上乘宋朝下启五代十国时期。

The dynasty was interrupted by the Second Zhou Dynasty (October 1， 690—March 3， 705) when Empress Wu Zetian seized the throne.

唐朝曾中断于武则天登基后建立的武周朝（690年10月1日——705年3月3日）。

The dynasty was founded by the Li (李）family.

李氏家族创立了唐朝。

The Tang Dynasty, with its capital at Chang'an (present-day Xi’an),the most populous city in the world at the time,

is regarded by historians as a high point in Chinese civilization—equal to or surpassing that of the Han Dynasty.
