美音的整体风格流畅，圆滑，柔和，舒缓；英音的整体风格庄重，浑雄刚健，节奏较美音略快

下面我们对美音与英音在发音上的具体的区别做介绍：

美音 英音
1．对/r/卷舌音的处理
是区分美音与英音最显著的标志。 单词里的“r”字母全部发音，如以下单词中黑体的字母发音： 只有“r”后边跟元音时才发出来，如以下单词中黑体的字母不发音：
dancer, teacher, forward, purpose, large, church dancer, teacher, forward, purpose, large, church
2. /t/位于单词中的发音 /t/的发声部更靠声带后部（即喉咙），所以发出的/t/音很弱，有点像/d/，但又没有/d/清晰。 /t/音很清晰。
water, sister, quarter, turtle water, sister, quarter, turtle
3. //和/:/ 很多单词中英音发长音/:/的，在美音中都发短音//。 发长音/:/的音
thought, taught, call, walk thought, taught, call, walk
4. /æ/和/a:/ 在英音中很多发/a:/的音，在美音中都发/æ/。 发/a:/的音

5. /ju:/和/u:/ 英音中很多发/ju:/的音，在美音中都发/u:/的音。 发/ju:/的音
