英语中,"自杀"的N种不同表达方法(图)
日前，因出演《冬日恋歌》而走红的韩星朴龙河在其住所被发现死亡，年仅33岁。韩国警方近日公布了对朴龙河自杀案的初步调查结果，称朴龙河自杀是因平时积累的压力加上酒后的一时冲动所致。警方称朴龙河在家用手机充电器的电线自缢而死，原因是“压力过大”和“酒后冲动”，年仅33岁；韩国媒体担心引发又一轮韩星“自杀。
1. 说起“自杀”这个词的英语，大家可能都不陌生吧，最常见的就是“suicide”。
比如说：He attempted suicide after his firm had gone bankrupt. (他在公司破产后曾试图自杀。)
从上面这句中，我们可以看到，“企图自杀”是“attempt suicide”，其实就是我们常说的“自杀未遂”。
2. 除了“suicide”这个词，其实还有另外其他灵活表达法。比如：Our neighbour tried to make away with himself by drinking poison . (我们的邻居企图喝毒药自杀。)
“make away with oneself”也是“自杀”的意思。短语“make away with”有“偷走”，“摧毁”的意思，比如说：The Bank robbers made away with thousands of dollars. (抢银行的人抢走好几千元。)
如此一来，“make away with oneself”便不难理解为“自杀”了。
3.另外，英语中还有些其他的表达可以表示“自杀”的意思，
譬如：die by one's own hand,take one's own life,idioctonia，take one's own life, lay hands on oneself,suicide oneself, self-slaughter, self-murder, self-destruction, cut one's own throat, die by one's own hand, take his life, took his life, do away with oneself, go without a passport, idioctonia, Dutch act等。
