FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke said on Wednesday that FIFA would postpone bidding to host the 2026 World Cup while investigations continue into allegations that bribery helped determine hosts of earlier tournaments.

FIFA had expected to allocate the 2026 tournament to a host nation in 2017, but it has been embroiled in scandal since the US indicted 9 top officials on corruption charges last month.
