九家影视公司联合抵制天价片酬
Nine major Chinese film and TV series production companies released a joint statement last Saturday saying no to so-called "sky-high payments" for actors.
国内9大影视制作公司上周六发布联合声明，对演员所谓的“天价片酬”进行抵制。The campaign was led by China's three largest online media streaming platforms: iQiyi, Youku, and Tencent.
此次行动是由国内最大的三家在线流媒体平台爱奇艺、优酷和腾讯共同发起的。The other six are Daylight Entertainment, Huace Group, Linmon Pictures, Ciwen Media, Youhug Media and New Classics Media.
另外六家参与的公司分别为正午阳光、华策影视、柠萌影业、慈文传媒、耀客传媒和新丽传媒。
According to the statement, financial remuneration for actors cannot exceed 40% of the overall budget of any of their future productions. Lead actors can only earn 70% of the cast's total pay, the statement added.
根据声明，演员的片酬不得超过各公司未来制作的影视剧总预算的40%，主要演员片酬不得超过演员总片酬的70%。
The companies also set salary caps demanding that an actor can get paid 50 million yuan (including taxes) at most for an entire TV series, and 1 million yuan for each TV series episode.
这些公司还对单个演员的片酬设限，要求其电视剧总片酬（含税）最高不得超过5000万元，单集片酬不得超过100万元。The move follows a recent joint announcement by several national-level government bodies, including the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the State Administration of Taxation and the China Film Administration, which all urged the film and TV industry to deal with chaotic situations including exorbitant celebrity pay and tax evasion.

不过，也有人担心这一举措的影响会比较有限。A report by Beijing News, citing an anonymous "business insider", said there are no more than 50 actors in China who can earn 1 million yuan from one TV series episode.
