《星球大战7》首周末称霸内地影院

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" broke records in the Chinese mainland with $53m in ticket sales on its first weekend, propelling the movie to become the third highest-grossing film globally in history, Walt Disney Co said Sunday.

迪斯尼公司10日宣布，科幻电影《星球大战》系列的第7部《星球大战：原力觉醒》创中国内地首周末票房纪录，狂揽5300万美元，这一成绩也帮助该片拿下全球影史票房季军。

The China figures represent the highest Saturday or Sunday movie opening in the Chinese mainland in industry history, the film studio said.

Internationally, "The Force Awakens", the seventh installment in the science fiction franchise, brought its worldwide haul to $1.73b, Disney said. It has now shot past "Jurassic World's" $1.67 billion global gross to become the third biggest movie ever.

迪斯尼方面还表示，《星球大战7：原力觉醒》的全球票房累计已达17.3亿美元。它现在已经超越了《侏罗纪世界》的16亿7000万美元的票房成绩，成为了全球影史第三大电影。

China will help decide if "Force Awakens" tops "Avatar" as the highest-grossing film in Hollywood history. "Avatar" took in $2.8 billion after its December 2009 debut.

中国票房将在一定程度上决定《星战7》能否超越《阿凡达》成为好莱坞影史上最卖座的电影。2009年12月首映的《阿凡达》取得了28亿美元的票房。

The "Star Wars" film saga that began in 1977 had not been a cultural phenomenon in China like it was in other countries. The original movies weren't shown in Chinese theaters until last June. D
