世界最长寿老人于日本去世 享年117岁

The world's oldest person, a 117-year-old Japanese woman, has died.

现今世界上最长寿的人、一位117岁的日本女性于日前逝世。

Nabi Tajima died of old age in a hospital last Saturday evening in the town of Kikai in southern Japan, town official Susumu Yoshiyuki confirmed. She had been hospitalized since January.

日本南部喜界镇的官员Susumu Yoshiyuki表示,田岛锅于上周六晚在该镇一家医院去世。她自1月以来一直在该院住院治疗。

Tajima, born on Aug. 4, 1900, was the last known person born in the 19th century. She raised seven sons and two daughters and reportedly had more than 160 descendants, including great-great-great grandchildren.

田岛锅出生于1900年月4日,是已知世上仅存的于19世纪出生的人。她养育了七个儿子和两个女儿,据报道她有160多个后代,其中包括曾曾孙。

Her town of Kikai is a small island of about 7,000 people halfway between Okinawa and Kyushu.

The US-based Gerontology Research Group says that another Japanese woman, Chiyo Miyako, is now the world's oldest person in its records.

Guinness World Records certified 112-year-old Masazo Nonaka of northern Japan as the world's oldest man earlier this month.
