中国消费者助力博柏利销售额增长

Burberry has reported increased sales in the three months to June, helped by demand from China.

The fashion retailer started the 2017-18 year with a 4% increase. In China, sales growth was in the "mid-teens".

It is the first set of results to be reported under new chief executive Marco Gobbetti.

Mr Gobbetti said: "We are pleased with our performance in the first quarter, while mindful of the work still to do. This is a time of great change for Burberry and the wider luxury industry."

中国消费者助力博柏利销售额增长

Burberry shares rose 5% in early trading after the sales figures were announced.

在销售额发布之后,博柏利的股价在早盘中一度上涨5%。

Retail sales generated 478m pounds in the three-month period, helped by strong performances in the UK and mainland China.

得益于在英国本土以及中国内地的强势表现,博柏利这三个月的销售额达到了4.78亿英镑。

Steve Clayton, a fund manager of Hargreaves Lansdown, said: "This is an encouraging performance from Burberry, which looks to be at long last pulling out of the doldrums. "

哈格里夫斯·兰斯多恩公司的财务经理史蒂夫·克莱顿表示:“这是博柏利一次鼓舞人心的表现,它似乎终于摆脱了长期以来低迷的局面。”

Mr Clayton warned that in the near-term, growth could be hampered by a slowdown in the number of stores being opened.
