据外媒报道，意大利15日报告新增新冠肺炎确诊病例3590例，新增死亡368例。目前，该国累计确诊新冠肺炎病例24747例，累计治愈2335例，累计死亡1809例。
据统计，意大利15日新增死亡数已创该国单日新增最高纪录，此前，中国单日新增死亡数最高为254例。

随着确诊人数和死亡病例的不断增加，意大利也于不久前宣布了封城。对不少省份实施封城，禁止人们进入或离开那些城市，受到影响的人口多达一千多万。欧洲媒体将意大利的这一举措形容为“中国以外地区最雷厉风行的抗疫措施”。
