上海媒体员工因泄露宣传指令被停职
A prominent Shanghai newspaper has suspended an employee who leaked a secret propaganda directive instructing media to stop covering the hard-hitting air pollution documentary that has captivated the Chinese internet this week.
一家知名的上海报纸——《第一财经日报》(China Business News)对一名员工作出了停职处理，原因是这名员工泄露了一则机密的、要求媒体停止报道纪录片《穹顶之下》的宣传指令。《穹顶之下》聚焦于中国严峻的大气污染，过去一周在中国互联网上引发巨大反响。The documentary, Under the Dome , has racked up more than 166m views since it was published last Saturday and has been heavily discussed online and among “two meetings” delegates.

The suspension highlights the sensitivity around propaganda efforts during China’s annual “two meetings” period, when the national parliament and a separate political consultation body convene in Beijing to rubber-stamp the government’s policy agenda for the year.

Chinese media initially covered the film and the environment minister publicly praised it but on Monday propaganda authorities instructed the media to stop writing about it. It also disappeared as a trending topic on Weibo, China’s Twitter-like microblog platform, though the film is still accessible online.
