Stanford freshman Emily Wang Ziyi had a high SAT score, was a student union president and enjoys reading, writing, calligraphy, music and jogging.

斯坦福大学新生王梓漪（艾米丽）的SAT(学术能力评估测试)得了高分，曾经当过学生会主席，喜欢阅读、写作、书法、音乐和慢跑。

But what really helped the 18-year-old woman get into the elite US university was her potential to be an international golf star.

但是真正帮助这名18岁女孩进入这所美国精英大学的是：她具备成为一名国际高尔夫球星的潜质。

"Emily is the epitome of a student-athlete," said Stanford golf head coach Anne Walker. "She has pursued an extremely rigorous academic schedule in Beijing and, at the same time, traveled internationally to compete in the best golf events."

斯坦福大学高尔夫主教练安妮·沃克表示：“王梓漪是学生运动员的缩影。她在北京经历了极其严格的学习计划，与此同时，她还走遍全世界，来参加最好的高尔夫赛事。”

In the past few years, dozens of Chinese students have played golf on US sports scholarships that were won after years of hard training and with considerable parental investment in money and time.

过去几年间，有数十名中国学生获得了美国体育奖学金来到美国打球，这是通过他们本人长年的艰苦训练、其父母投入的大量金钱和时间换来的。

The trend has accelerated since 2015, with almost 20 students from the Chinese mainland signing with golf programs at universities including Stanford, Princeton, and University of Southern California.

这股潮流自2015年开始加速，当年近20名我国内地的学生签约了包括斯坦福、普林斯顿、南加大等高校的高尔夫项目。

Most of the teens learned the game at a young age, with their fathers as their first teacher.
