香港法院判处20名“占中”活动人士有罪

A court in Hong Kong has found 20 activists guilty for their part in the 2014 Occupy protests, including Joshua Wong who is now in jail, in another escalation of the crackdown against dissent in the semi-autonomous Chinese territory.

香港一法院已裁定20名活动人士因参与2014年“占中”抗议获罪,其中包括现在狱中的黄之锋(Joshua Wong)。这是香港打压异见人士行动的又一次升级。

The group was found guilty of contempt of court for ignoring a clearance order for a protest camp in the Mong Kok during the 2014 Occupy movement. Sentencing will take place at a later date.

Joshua Wong and two other Hong Kong democracy activists were jailed in a separate case in August for six to eight months for storming a square in front of the main government offices in 2014.

A British Conservative party activist and keen supporter of Hong Kong democracy movements, Benedict Rogers, was barred from entering Hong Kong on Wednesday.

Asked about by journalist in a Thursday press conference, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said “the central government is responsible for foreign affairs related to Hong Kong” and “to allow or not to allow someone to enter is within China’s sovereignty”.

有记者在周四的一个记者招待会上问及此事,中国外交部发言人华春莹表示:“中央政府负责与香港有关的外交事务”,“允许谁入境,不允许谁入境,是中国的主权”。

The comments marked the first time Beijing has admitted its influence over Hong Kong’s immigration department.
