外交部就加拿大留学生隔离答记者问

问：近日，有25名加拿大留学生在长春市被隔离，加拿大政府质疑这一措施的必要性。中方对此有何回应？这是地方政府采取的措施，还是中国政府的普遍政策？
Q: The Canadian Government is questioning the necessity of 25 Canadian students being quarantined in Changchun City. How do you respond? Is this a measure taken by local authorities or a general policy of the national Government?
　　
答：据了解，鉴于5月2日加拿大已确诊51人感染甲型H1N1流感，为保障公共卫生安全，吉林省有关部门根据《中华人民共和国传染病防治法》、《中华人民共和国国境卫生检疫法》的有关规定，对当晚抵达长春市的25名加拿大等国留学生实施为期7天的医学观察。目前，这批留学生被妥善安置在长春市的宾馆内，中方有关部门对他们的住宿、饮食、健康检测等做了周到、妥善的安排。留学生们体温正常，身体健康状况良好，情绪稳定，对中方的安排表示满意。吉林省外办已将上述情况通报了有关国家驻华使馆。
A: As I have learnt, given that 51 people in Canada were confirmed to have infected influenza A H1N1 on May 2, for the sake of public health, relevant authorities of Jilin Province put 25 students from Canada and other countries arriving that night under a 7-day quarantine according to Law of the PRC on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases and The Frontier Sanitation and Quarantine Law of the PRC. Now, the students are staying at a hotel in Changchun with accommodation, food and health care properly arranged. They are in good health and stable mood with normal body temperature and satisfied with China's arrangement. The foreign office of Jilin Province has already informed relevant embassies in China.
