The university has 13 schools involved in 9 programs:agriculture，engineering，science，economics，management，law，literature，medicine，philosophy，apart from a school of postgraduates and a school of continual education. CAU is now has 19 state key disciplines，14 ministry key disciplines，10 post doctorate stations.2 state key laboratories，18 ministry key laboratories，4 state research centers and 9 ministry research centers.

历史变迁1905 Agriculture Science University of Jing Shi Da Xue Tang(the Metropolitan University was founded.
1905年京师大学堂农科大学成立。1949 Agriculture College of Beijing University，University，and Agriculture college of North China University merged to form Beijing Agricultu University
1949年北京大学农学院一、清华大学农学院和华北大学农学院合并为北京农业大学1952 Agriculture Machinery Department of Beijing Agricultural University，North China Agriculture Machinery Academy，and Machine Planting College of the ministry of Agriculture
1952年北京农业人学农业机械系与华北农业机械专科学校、中央农业部机耕学校，合并成立北京机械化农业学院。1953 Beijing merged to form Beijing Machinery Agriculture inery Agriculture College was renamed Beijing Agricultural Machinery College
1953年北京机械化农业学院更名为北京农业机械化学院。1985 Beijing Agricultural Machinery College was renamed Beijing Agriculture Engineering University.
1985年北京农业机械化学院更名为北京农业工程大学。1995 Beijing Agricultural University and Beijing Agriculture Engineering University merged to fiorm China Agricultural University.
1995年北京农业大学与北京农业工程大学合并成立中国农业大学。
