A very similar dessert to basbousa is harissa, which is thicker and slightly different in texture and taste. In other countries, harissa is known as a red chilli paste used in cooking. In Egypt, the dessert is solely sold in Alexandria, the second largest city. Many Cairo residents love it so much that they make it a point to pick some up during their trip to the city and take it back home for their families.

哈利撒是一个和巴斯博萨很像的甜点，不过更厚实，质地和味道都不太一样。在别的国家，哈利撒这个词指的是一种烹饪用的辣椒酱。在埃及，这种甜点只在全国第二大城市亚历山大有卖。很多开罗居民实在太爱这种甜点了，所以去亚历山大的时候会特地给家里人带一些回去。
