Kim Jong Un has warned that Donald Trump will “pay dearly” for his threat this week to “totally destroy” North Korea if America is forced to defend itself and its allies, as he escalated the heated war of words between the two men.

朝鲜领导人金正恩(Kim Jong Un)与美国总统唐纳德?特朗普(Donald Trump)之间已然火爆的骂战再次升级，金正恩警告称，特朗普将为其本周发出的威胁付出代价。特朗普本周曾表示，如果美国被迫要自卫和保护盟友，美国将“彻底摧毁”朝鲜。

In a statement hours after the US imposed more sanctions on Pyongyang, Mr Kim called Mr Trump ”mentally deranged”, and a “gangster fond of playing with fire” who was “unfit to hold the prerogative of supreme command of a country”.

在美国对朝实施更多制裁数小时后发布的一份声明中，金正恩称特朗普是“神经病”，是一个“爱玩火的恶棍、流氓”，“完全不配一手掌控一国武装力量的最高统帅”。

The North Korean dictator said Mr Trump’s speech to the UN general assembly — where the US president declared that “Rocket Man is on a suicide mission” — had convinced him that his decision to continue developing nuclear weapons was the “correct path”.
