【讲解】

美日安保条约全名为《日美安全保障条约》（Treaty of Security and Safeguard Between Japan and United States），是日本与美国于1951年9月8日在旧金山美国陆军第六军司令部签订的军事同盟条约。该条约第五条规定，各缔约国宣誓在日本国施政的领域下，如果任何一方受到武力攻击，依照本国宪法的规定和手续，采取行动对付共同的危险。

奥巴马对日本报纸表示，争端应该通过对话和外交手段解决，而不是通过威吓和强制手段（Disputes need to be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, not intimidation and coercion）。对此，中方发言人表示，中国对钓鱼岛拥有无可争辩的主权（indisputable sovereignty），美方应尊重事实（respect facts），以负责任的态度（take a responsible attitude），恪守在有关领土主权问题上不选边站队的承诺（remain committed to not taking sides on territory and sovereignty issues），谨言慎行（speak and act cautiously），切实为地区和平稳定发挥建设性作用（earnestly play a constructive role in regional peace and stability）。
