梅突然在街上遇见了自己多年没有见面的小学同学，两个人随即在路边寒暄了几句。

May: Oh, my God, Wendy, is that you?

Wendy: Oh, hi, May. Long time no see.

May: Yes, we haven't seen each other since elementary school. I miss you so much.

Wendy: Yeah. So what's new?

May: Nothing much except I've got in a very exciting school.

Wendy: Really? What school is that?

May: Joy Chain High School. How about you?

Wendy: Oh, me? I am at the Affiliated High School of Peking University.

梅：哦，天哪，温迪，是你吗？

温迪：哦，嗨，阿美。好久不见。

梅：是啊，小学毕业后我们就一直没有再见面。我很想念你。

温迪：我也是。你最近怎样？

梅：也没什么，不过我进了所不错的学校。

温迪：真的吗？是什么学校？

梅：卓成高中。你呢？

温迪：哦，我吗？我现在在北大附中读书。

time no see.好久不见。

从字面上看，这是一句Chinglish，但是它确实是一句地地道道的美国英语啊！不管是美国的字典里还是美国的经典电影里面，都出现过这句Long time no see！比如2010年大热电影“阿凡达”，大约是在一小时四十分钟的时候，就出现一句“What’s going on brother,long time no see!（过得好吗？兄弟，好久不见！）据说这句话最先是水手说的long time no sea，好久没出海了，渐渐的演变成了现在的好久不见。

这句话多用于两个朋友见面互相询问彼此近况。最近有什么新情况，或者最近过得怎么样之类的。这个是外国人常用的问候方式。

用法和how are you? What's up是一样的

如果你觉得最近你有有趣的事

你就回答：I have some new. They are...

如果没事特别的事

就说not much

Elementary是初步的，基本的；elementary school就是小学的意思。
