Teaching kindergarten is a wonderful way to make a living in Beijing. The pay is more than most professionals my age earn working in an office and I work less than 20 hours a week! However, it takes a special disposition to be able to get up early every morning and play with toddlers. I will not lie and say that I am "Tiantian kaixin" or happy everyday like many young Chinese teachers claim. I am, however, willing to do what it takes to keep the kids smiling.
